Rev. Dr. Kenneth Matthew Jenkins is a native of Albany, NY and the youngest of 5 children born to the late William Reed Jenkins, Jr. and the late Daisy Craig Jenkins.
As a youth, Dr. Jenkins committed his life to Christ and was baptized at the Bethel Baptist Church in Troy, NY where the late Rev. Allen A. Stanley served as pastor.
In 1979, he enlisted in the United States Air Force and honorably served for over 28 years.
In 1981, he acknowledged his call to the Gospel ministry and preached his initial sermon in March 1982 at his home church. From that time on, he has been faithful to his calling.
Commissioned as an officer in 1994, he faithfully served as a chaplain in the Air Force until his retirement in 2007. He retired as the Deputy Wing Chaplain at Langley Air Force Base, Hampton, VA. As a chaplain, he preached the Gospel in national, international, and deployed locations.
Dr. Jenkins earned his Bachelor of Science degree from Wayland Baptist University, Plainview, TX, his Master of Divinity degree from Samuel DeWitt Proctor School of Theology of Virginia Union University, Richmond, VA, and his Doctor of Ministry degree from Southeastern Baptist Theological Seminary, Wake Forest, NC.
Dr. Jenkins enjoys weightlifting, officiating high school and youth basketball, bowling, fishing, watching sports, reading, and most importantly, spending time with his family.
He is happily married to the love of his life for over 35 years, Thelma. They are blessed with 3 adult children and 8 grandchildren.
Dr. Jenkins loves preaching and teaching the Word of God and watching its impact on the lives of people. His motto for ministry is: Serve with love - Lead with integrity.
